Sand Super Eagles‘ Head Coach Audu Ejo, today made it known that camping for preparation of the tournament will start in March. The New was confirmed by the coach in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

Ejo led the team to qualify for the world cup when they secured the first runner up position at the CAF beach soccer tournament which took place in Lagos.

The coach also told NAN that he wouldn’t introduce new players to the team but he would rather put all his attention and effort into the current players that they have now.

“We have a great team that is committed, that I won’t trade for experimenting, this is the World Cup I can’t gamble on this.

“The competition is in April, so, I am hoping that on or before March, we can have enough time to prepare.

“We have confidence that with support from our fans, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Lagos state, we will make history.

“We are aware that this is the world stage and we don’t want to jeopardise our chances by not training early enough,” Ejo said

NAN also reports that the world cup games are scheduled to kick off from April 27 to May 7 in Belarus.

Nigeria and Senegal are the only 2 countries that would be representing Africa at the 2017 World Cup.

Brazil, so far has been the most successful in the tournament since it started in 1995. The sand Eagles’ last appearnce was at the 2015 edit which took place in Portugal.
