Four Men, Bala Mohammed, Dauda Damina, Mohammed Ahmed and Dahiru Mato have been arrested by Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly gang raping a lady in Yali, around the Ganjuwa area of the state. They were said to have stormed her home in Mada Dutsen Kura, during November 28 of last year and they attacked her husband, a man named Abubakar Mohammed, before they all took turns raping her.
The 4 of them demanded N150,000 from the couple but the husband was only able to pay N35,000, they took the money and left the apartment.
SP Haruna Mohammed, The state police public relations officer, did confirm that the suspects were arrested on January 1st of this year after a tip off was received by detectives of the Ganjuwa Division.
He also said:
“The suspects were arrested round 8pm on the New 12 months’s Day following an intelligence report. They have been nabbed by the detectives hooked up to the Ganjuwa division in collaboration with a vigilance group.
“Armed with cutlasses, the suspects went to the residence of one Abubakar Mohammed and raped his spouse after which they threatened to kidnap his mom.
“He gave them a sum of N35,000, and pleaded with them to not kidnap his mother following their threats.
“The suspects, nevertheless, seized his bike pending when he would pay the excellent ransom.
“The police recovered two cutlasses from them and the bike receipts as reveals.
